I need to change or cancel the ticket I purchased. What is your return policy and is there a cost for changing a ticket?

ALL TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Exchanges can be made for a fee prior to the intended date and time of departure. Once the boat has sailed, tickets are not exchangeable, and the value is forfeited; the ticket will be marked as a no show, and you will be required to make a new reservation. Exchange fees are posted on the individual Routes & Schedules pages for each route. Any credits are valid for travel within the same calendar year as the original date of travel.

Please note that West Point, Brunch and Cold Spring tickets are non-exchangeable.

For passengers traveling between New Bedford, and Martha’s Vineyard, or Nantucket:

ALL TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, unless Trip Protection is purchased (please see terms below). Exchanges can be made for a fee prior to the intended date and time of departure. Once the boat has sailed, tickets are not exchangeable, and the value is forfeited; the ticket will be marked as a no show, and you will be required to make a new reservation. Passengers who need to make changes to their reservations will be charged a per-ticket service fee. Any credits are valid through December 31st of the year that the original trip was intended for.

Trip Protection Terms: New Bedford customers who purchase trip protection are able to refund their ticket(s) and parking pass up to two hours before their planned departure time. If your ticket is for a departure earlier than 9:30 AM, you must notify Seastreak by 5PM the day before travel. Trip protection prices are per-ticket and dependent on the ticket type (one-way or round trip), and for which island your ticket has as its destination. The trip protection waives the exchange fees normally assessed for date, or time exchanges. Your exchange must be made within the same time period listed for trip protected refunds (see above). Waiving of exchange fees is limited to one exchange; any additional changes to the date, or time of a ticket will incur a per-ticket exchange fee. Once the boat has sailed tickets are not refundable, or exchangeable, and the value is forfeited; the ticket will be marked as a no show, and you will be required to make a new reservation. Trip protection cannot be added to an order after the purchase is completed and is not refundable.

What is the age limit for a child’s ticket?

For child ticket ages and pricing, see an individual route’s fares table. All children need a ticket to board a Seastreak ferry, even if there is not a fare associated. Free child tickets may be picked up at any of our ticket offices prior to boarding.

All special events require a ticket to be purchased for anyone 3+ years old. There are exceptions to this for the Mets Boat Only and Cold Spring events. For child ticket ages and pricing, see an individual Daytrips & Getaways or Tours & Event Cruises page’s fare table.

How old does an unaccompanied minor have to be to travel alone?

For travel between New Jersey to New York City and New Bedford to Martha’s Vineyard, Seastreak reserves the right not to accept any passenger under the age of 13 years, unless accompanied by an adult.

For all special events, due to the travel time and distance, Seastreak reserves the right not to accept any passenger under the age of 16 years, unless accompanied by an adult.

Do you offer discount ticket packages or monthly passes for frequent travelers?

Yes! We are happy to offer discount ticket packages for our frequent riders. We currently offer 10-trip, 20-trip and 40-trip ticket books. Ticket books are available for purchase at any Seastreak ticket office.

Is there a special discount for seniors?

Seastreak does offer a senior(65+) discount for passengers travelling directly to/from Belford, NJ. These tickets must be purchased in the Belford Ferry Terminal. Senior tickets are not available from our Atlantic Highlands or Highlands offices.

Do you offer a student discount?

Yes! We are happy to offer discounted books for students commuting to the city for classes, or an internship.  In order to be eligible for this discount, there is paperwork that must be picked-up from our ticket office in Atlantic Highlands and filled out by the student, and then by the school, and then returned to us in Atlantic Highlands to verify the students’ full-time-student status. If a student will be using their pass to commute to an internship, they will also need a copy of their acceptance letter to the internship program (in addition to the school verification). Student ticket books can be purchased only in Atlantic Highlands. Student books cannot be shared with anyone- they are only for use by the student with a completed and approved application.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, we love groups and will do everything possible to accommodate their needs! Please give us a call to speak with our group sales coordinator at 1-800-BOATRIDE (1-800-262-8743).
