Purchasing Tickets

Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets are available for purchase online, at any of the various Seastreak ticket offices in New Jersey, and onboard all of our vessels. Currently, tickets for our commuter routes must be purchased in-person. If you are boarding in Manhattan, you may purchase a round trip or one way ticket onboard the vessel. We also have seasonal ticket booths in Manhattan during the summer for purchasing convenience.

Can I purchase tickets on the boat?

Yes, you may purchase tickets on board all the Seastreak ferries.

Can I purchase commuter tickets online?

Not yet, but soon! We’re working on a brand new way for NJ and NYC commuters to purchase their tickets online from wherever you are. Stay tuned!

Do I need reservations?

We do not take reservations for our regular commuter runs. Boarding is ‘first come first served’, unless we are priority boarding. For our special events and sporting events, we do take reservations and they are strongly suggested.

Is there a special discount for seniors?

Seastreak does not offer senior discounts.

Can I pre-purchase tickets?

You can purchase tickets for travel in advance in person, over the phone, or online. To purchase tickets in person, come into one of our Atlantic Highlands, Highlands, or New Bedford ticket offices. To purchase tickets over the phone, call 1-800-BOATRIDE (1-800-262-8743). Tickets for special events may be purchased online through the website.

How do I obtain my tickets?

For tickets purchased in person
Commuter tickets: You will receive your tickets immediately.
Special Event tickets: You will receive your tickets the day of the event. Check in with the on duty Seastreak Representative to receive your tickets prior to boarding the vessel.

For tickets purchased online
All passengers must present a valid confirmation letter along with proper identification to check in with the on duty Seastreak Representative to receive your tickets prior to boarding the vessel.

I need to change or cancel the ticket I purchased. What is your return policy and is there a cost for changing a ticket?

All reservations are non-refundable. We are happy to exchange a reservation for you provided there is space available on the departure date and time you wish to exchange to. If you need to exchange your reservation, a fee will be charged. Exchange fees are posted on the individual Routes & Schedules pages for each route.

Please note that Baseball tickets are non-exchangeable.

What is the age limit for a child’s ticket?

For child ticket ages and pricing, see an individual route’s fares table. All children need a ticket to board a Seastreak ferry, even if there is not a fare associated. Free child tickets may be picked up at any of our ticket offices prior to boarding.

All special events require a ticket to be purchased for anyone 3+ years old. There are exceptions to this for the Mets Boat Only and Cold Spring events. For child ticket ages and pricing, see an individual Daytrips & Getaways or Tours & Event Cruises page’s fare table.

How old does an unaccompanied minor have to be to travel alone?

For travel between New Jersey to New York City and New Bedford to Martha’s Vineyard, Seastreak reserves the right not to accept any passenger under the age of 13 years, unless accompanied by an adult.

For all special events, due to the travel time and distance, Seastreak reserves the right not to accept any passenger under the age of 16 years, unless accompanied by an adult.

Do you offer discount ticket packages or monthly passes for frequent travelers?

Yes! We are happy to offer discount ticket packages for our frequent riders. We currently offer 10-trip and 40-trip ticket books. Ticket books are available for purchase at any Seastreak ticket office.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, we love groups and will do everything possible to accommodate their needs! Please give us a call to speak with our group sales coordinator at 1-800-BOATRIDE (1-800-262-8743).

What is Ride-n-Win?

Ride-n-Win is Seastreak’s special sweepstake that is available to passengers who have purchased a 40-trip ticket book. Ride with Seastreak Monday thru Thursday from any departure to be eligible and a winner will be picked at random on Friday.
