NEW BEDFORD, MA, OCTOBER 12, 2023: Seastreak, the high-speed ferry company responsible for safely transporting summer travelers from New Bedford, MA to destinations on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket for over 15 years, is excited to announce new fall and winter services to Vineyard Haven on Martha’s Vineyard beginning October 12th, 2023. Seastreak customers will now have the opportunity to visit Martha’s Vineyard without worrying about seasonal travel limitations and New Bedford-based commuters will have access to additional employment opportunities on the island.

 

Schedule

New Bedford / Vineyard Haven service will begin on October 12, 2023.

There will be two departures from New Bedford each weekday (Monday – Friday). The morning departure will leave the dock at 6:00 AM for a 6:55 AM arrival on the island. The afternoon departure will leave the dock at 3:15 PM for a 4:10 PM arrival on the island.

There will be two departures from Vineyard Haven each weekday (Monday – Friday). The morning departure will leave the dock at 7:30 AM for a 8:25 AM arrival in New Bedford. The afternoon departure will leave the dock at 4:40 PM for a 5:35 PM arrival in New Bedford.

There will be two departures from New Bedford each weekend (Saturday – Sunday). The morning departure will leave the dock at 9:30 AM for a 10:25 AM arrival on the island. The afternoon departure will leave the dock at 3:15 PM for a 4:10 PM arrival on the island.

There will be two departures from Vineyard Haven each weekend (Saturday – Sunday). The morning departure will leave the dock at 11:00 AM for a 11:55 AM arrival in New Bedford. The afternoon departure will leave the dock at 4:40 PM for a 5:35 PM arrival in New Bedford.

 

Holiday Schedule

Extended service with supplementary departures will be available on all major holidays. Seastreak will also provide service to Nantucket on select dates, including Thanksgiving Weekend, Christmas Weekend, New Year’s Weekend, and New Year’s Day. Service on MLK Day, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday will be available to passengers traveling to Vineyard Haven only. In addition to the holidays, Seastreak will also provide service to the islands for special on-island events. For example, passengers will now be able to travel from New Bedford to Nantucket for the annual Nantucket Christmas Stroll.

Ticketing

Passengers will have the option to purchase regularly priced one-way ($45) and round-trip ($79) tickets or discounted 10-trip, 20-trip, and 40-trip ticket books. One-way and round-trip tickets can be purchased online and require a reservation to secure a space on each departure.  10, 20, and 40-trip ticket books do not require a reservation and must be purchased in person at the New Bedford ticket office or the Vineyard Haven ticket office on Martha’s Vineyard. All discounted ticket books expire 60 days from the date of purchase. Ticket books will be available for purchase in Seastreak offices in Martha’s Vineyard and New Bedford starting Wednesday, October 11.

Parking

We’re happy to extend free parking to customers for the month of October in both the dockside and off-site areas. Free parking will be available from October 12 until October 31, 2023.
