Sometimes sushi calls, and when it does you better listen! Sushi can be so much more than cucumber and avocado to go. Dine in at these Japanese restaurants serving up a dose of culture with your cod.
Rated a 28 on Zagat, this cozy sushi joint specializes in Omakase, or “chef’s selection” only. Their mantra is “trust us”, and you’re really left with no choice but to await the freshest food be bought to you. This is pricey but well worth an exquisite meal.

Cradled on the Upper East Side is Sushi Seki, a true authentic Japanese dining experience. Yelpers highlight the quality of fish and comfy atmosphere. Omakase here too is the best of the bunch. And while it might be hard to get a table, that will soon change with the opening of a second location in Chelsea.

Perhaps the best of them all, Sushi Yasuda has been called a “standout shrine to sushi” by the New York Times. Calculating in their work, the chefs masterfully blend scientific precision with tradition. You won’t experience anything other than a peaceful, wholesome and enjoyable meal devoid of excess noise. Harmonious eating sounds pretty refreshing, doesn’t it?
