It’s that time again; Fleet Week hits New York City! Check out our country’s eye-candy in all its military glory. The Navy, Marines and Coast Guard participate, and this year there’s an expected turnout of 1,500 of the sea’s bravest and the ships they spend their lives on.

While Fleet Week is officially from May 21st to May 27th, the celebration kicked off on May 19th and May 20th with performances by the Navy Band in Basking Ridge, New Jersey and Bryant Park respectively.

Fleet Week 2

The ships arrived this morning, May 21st, in the New York Harbor, where observers could mingle with our service men and women. Throughout the week you can take a tour of the ships at Pier 92 in Manhattan and The Sullivans Pier in Staten Island, where the professionals will show you around. Become privy to life on a boat and the duties at sea.

Tours are Thursday – Monday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lines may be capped at 3 p.m.

Fleet Week 3

The party continues with multiple parades in and around the city featuring more band music, special ceremonies to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg address and memorials for fallen soldiers. Take your lunch break tomorrow, May 22nd while watching the U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team perform in front of the NY Stock Exchange at noon. If you’re also looking for something to do after work on Friday head on over to Herald Square for the Military Band concerts from 5:30-8:00. It’s an easy trip if you take Seastreak to Pier 11 and catch the 2, or 3 train from Wall St to 34th St/Herald Square!

Fleet Week 4

Capping the week off on Monday, May 26th will be 8 Memorial Day parades among other Memorial Day ceremonies, including the Intrepid Memorial Day Ceremony at 11am on Pier 86 in Manhattan.

Satisfy your curiosity, show your support and exercise your legs this Fleet Week. What would Fleet Week be without a ride to the ships on…a boat? Seastreak is the leader on the local seas, so take advantage of spectacular city views and a prime perch when you ride our ferry into Manhattan. Rule the waters in style.
