LIFE ACCORDING TO SAM

A documentary about Sam Berns, a boy who was diagnosed with a progressive aging disorder known as progeria, and his parents who would stop at nothing to get answers. Their advances have led to great strides and amazing new discoveries about the disorder, including an initial drug trial for treatment.
MUSCLE SHOALS

Have you ever believed that a place can hold power? Muscle Shoals, Alabama is such a place, and its power is music. At the core of this documentary is founder of FAME Studios, Rick Hall who brought the sounds of Muscle Shoals to the public. Many famous musicians attest to the magic of this hidden gem, and give commentary on why the music born here is still relevant.
FREE ANGELA AND ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS
TUESDAY, AUGUST 20, 7:00 pm, Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center, Oak Bluffs
Angela Davis is a political activist, scholar and author, who skyrocketed to fame in the Seventies for her extreme views. In this documentary she speaks candidly about her actions during those years. Following the film will be a discussion with Angela Davis, Margaret Burnham and director Shola Lynch.
