Warm up your bagpipes and buy stock in food coloring! Saint Patrick’s Day arrives this week in a flurry of clovers, leprechauns, and foods dyed an unnatural shade of green. New York City proclaims its ties to the Irish culture with parades, parties, and events for people of all ages. Have a look at a few of the events where you can celebrate your Irish heritage (or someone else’s Irish heritage).

St. Patrick's Celebrations 1

St. Paddy’s Day Irish Whisky Tasting at Camaje Bistro and Lounge

When most people think of Irish beverages, they think of Guinness stout. Look beyond the pint glass towards another traditional Irish favorite at the St. Paddy’s Day Irish Whisky Tasting! Taste a variety of whiskies from the Emerald Isle at Camaje Bistro and Lounge (85 MacDougal Street) from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Finger foods to nibble on will be served as well.

Sober St. Patrick’s Day in New York City at Cathedral High School

Folks who’d prefer not to partake in the variety of potent potables available on St. Patrick’s Day, but who still want to party in Irish style, will find just what they’re looking for at the Sober St. Patrick’s Day in New York City celebration at Cathedral High School (350 East 56th Street)! Hear traditional Irish music performed by award-winning musicians, including guitarists, singers, and naturally, bagpipers!

New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

We’ve saved the best for last: the New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. This parade has been a New York City tradition for more than 250 years. Some people call it the most popular parade in the city, and it’s surely the largest of them. It starts at 44th Street at 11 AM on March 17, and will finish up at the Irish Historical Society around 4:30 or 5 PM.

St. Patrick's Celebrations 2

You won’t need the luck of the Irish to have a great ride on a Seastreak ferry! Come ride our comfortable catamarans all the way to the Emerald Isle (or just Manhattan).

Sea you soon!
