American Ballet Theatre kicked off its Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House with a gala that drew out nothing less than A-listers like supermodel Karlie Kloss and Selena Gomez. As per their annual gala, the dancers previewed a few pieces from the spring repertoire after Sigourney Weaver gave an eloquent introduction speech. A dinner followed the performance where much fun was had. Did we mention the sponsor was Lanvin? Everyone was naturally dressed to the nines.

The most raved about piece, though, has to be GaîtéParisienne. According to Broadway World, “GaîtéParisienne is set to music by Jacques Offenbach and features costumes by Christian Lacroix, scenery by Zack Brown and lighting by Steven Shelley…GaîtéParisienne is generously supported through an endowed gift from The Toni and Martin Sosnoff New Works Fund.”It has been touted “uplifting” and how can it not be with the colorful costumes and upbeat, puppet like attitude.
