Dear Seastreak Customer,

We’re excited to announce the launch of digital trip cards, now available at all Seastreak offices. These cards will replace the traditional 40, 20, and 10-trip paper ticket books for riders traveling on Seastreak’s New Jersey to New York City route.

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions:

How do I get a trip card?

Visit any Seastreak office in Atlantic Highlands, Highlands, or Belford to purchase a 40, 20, or 10-trip card.

How do I reload a trip card?

After receiving your card, create an account on the new My Seastreak portal and link your card using the unique code on the back. When your balance reaches zero, you can reload the card with additional trips. You may also opt into the automatic top-up feature, which will recharge your card using a linked credit card.

What can I do via the My Seastreak portal?

· Check your card’s remaining balance

· Freeze a lost card

· View past orders and receipts

Can I replace a lost trip card?

Yes! You can freeze a lost trip card through the My Seastreak portal and unfreeze it once it is found. If you are unable to locate your lost trip card, you can visit one of our NJ offices and provide your lost trip card number, and a customer service representative will be able to transfer your valid, unused tickets to a new trip card.

How do I scan the trip card when boarding?

Simply tap your card on Seastreak’s handheld readers. The card utilizes RFID technology similar to what’s used in hotels and ski resorts.

Will expiration dates change?

No changes have been made. Commuter bundles (now in the form of cards) remain non-transferable and are valid for 60 days from the date of purchase.

Can I transfer or share tickets from my trip card with others?

Our discounted trip cards are non-transferable and are valid for only one rider. If travelling with others, they will need their own trip card or single-ride ticket to board.

Are paper tickets still valid?

Yes. All unexpired paper tickets will be honored through Friday, January 16th.

Are there changes to one-way or round-trip tickets?

Customers are encouraged to purchase Digital Tickets via the Seastreak website, which can be added to your digital wallet. In-person purchases at Atlantic Highlands, Highlands, and Belford will still receive printed tickets with barcodes for scanning.

What’s next for digital ticketing?

We’re working on enabling trip cards to be added to digital wallets. We anticipate this feature will be launched in 2026 or early 2027.

Can tickets be purchased on the boats or in NYC?

Digital round-trip and one-way tickets can be purchased online at any time via tickets.seastreak.com.

Paper tickets and trip cards are only available for purchase in one of our NJ offices. Effective Friday, November 14th paper tickets and trip cards will not be available for purchase outside of our NJ offices. Once you have purchased your trip card at an NJ office, you can reload it from My Seastreak once you have reached 0 trips remaining.

We’re proud to offer this significant upgrade to your commuting experience.
