Kids get to have the most fun. Adults have to pretend they have this thing called “dignity”, accompanied by this horrible affliction called “maturity”. These two unfortunate conditions combine to suck the silly fun out of life. (Some of us ignore them entirely and do whatever the heck we want anyway.) Adults might not stoop to running around, trying to find colored eggs stashed in unlikely places, but kids eat it up. This week, there’s a few early egg hunts in advance of Easter next weekend. There’s even one in everyone’s favorite hidden jewel on the coast, Atlantic Highlands, NJ, on March 29 at Fireman’s Memorial Field (on East Highland Avenue) at 1 PM!

Egging You On

For those of you who haven’t yet visited Atlantic Highlands, this weekend is a great excuse to go, and to bring the whole family! This charismatic little town brims with old world charm, and is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day. You’ll find excellent restaurants and delightful stores for your shopping pleasure. One visit, and you’ll want to go back time and again as weather warms!

Bring your kids to Fireman’s Memorial Field on Sunday for the annual Easter egg hunt! (If it rains out, they’ll reschedule to April 4.) Afterwards, grab lunch at Zoe’s Vintage Kitchen for a real treat. And don’t forget to pick up something sweet at the Flaky Tart!

On the Hunt

If you’re looking for an early egg hunt a little closer to New York City, head to Carl Schurz Park (on East End Avenue between East 84th Street and East 90th Street) on Saturday, March 28, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Kids can decorate eggs, go on an egg hunt, and even listen to a concert with Patrick and the Rock-a-Silly Band!

You don’t have to hunt for a luxurious ferry ride. Just climb onboard a Seastreak catamaran for a comfortable trip and fantastic customer service!
