The ability to tell stories sets humans apart from other animals. No other creature on our planet (that we know of) has the ability to create and share tales, or to communicate their imagination. In scientific terms, it’s called “episodic memory”, but that clinical phrase saps the romance from one of the best parts of being human. We’re all storytellers, and connoisseurs of tales told. See stories unfold on the big screen at the Tribeca Film Festival! It’s going on until Sunday at various theaters across New York City! Here’s a couple of the highlights.

Tribeca Film Festival 2015 1

Friday, April 24 – Sunday, April 26 at Various Theaters – Monty Python Celebration

There’s never been another comedy group like Monty Python. The legendary troupe taught generations what elderberries were, and why we should always look on the bright side of life. Spend the closing weekend of the Tribeca Film Festival laughing at the irreverent humor of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, “Monty Python’s Life of Brian”, and “Monty Python: the Meaning of Life”. Also catch “The Meaning of Live”, a history of the group and its material. Check out the schedule for more details!

Saturday, April 25, 7:30 PM at the Beacon Theater (2124 Broadway) – Closing Night “Goodfellas”

For 25 years, this organized crime classic has drawn accolades for its sensational action and excellent plot. Now, Martin Scorsese has supervised a remastering from the original camera negative, so it looks better than ever! After the showing, the cast and creators will reunite for a conversation, so get your tickets early!

For as long as we can remember, we wanted to drive ferries. To us, that was better than being President of the United States. To drive ferries was to own the world – or at least to give passengers the most luxurious ride we could! Catch a Seastreak ferry next time you’re headed to or from Manhattan.

Sea you soon!
