With such an array of New York Food Carts selling everything from lamb to tacos to nuts, there isn’t a cuisine you can’t treat yourself to along the sidewalks in the city.  Here are a couple of our favorites for the next time there’s a rumble in your tummy.

Cinnamon Snail

All of your favorite sugary goodness with none of the guilt has given this organic and vegan food truck its fan base of thousands, with many of its buyers waiting in line for 2 hours to pick up an original Cinnamon Snail delicacy.

Whipped and cooked on the spot, this traveling food cart’s menu consists of filling breakfast food like pancakes, waffles, and wraps, in addition to a huge selection of sandwiches for lunch. It’s worth the wait if you’re lucky enough to grab their namesake cinnamon doughnut before they sell out.

Also on the menu is hot chocolate with marshmallows by Sweet & Sara, and raw desserts for maximum antioxidants.

They can be found everywhere from Wall Street to the Flatiron district to Red Bank, NJ, on Sundays at the farmers market behind the Galleria.

You can keep up with their schedule by following them on Facebook.

NY Dosas

This Vendy Award winning food cart serves up Indian dosas next to Washington Square Park, and has become something of a legend, both because of the line in front, and because of the owner.

Friendly Thiru Kumar spends his days cooking in front of the cart making hundreds of veggie friendly and cheap meals for NYU students, tourists and locals alike. Everything on the menu is under $10, delicious and cooked in front of your very eyes.

Get a dosa (vegetables/masala wrapped in dough), drumsticks, or any number of beverages when you drop by. In order to make your pursuit of the legend easier, follow him on his Twitter for the latest status and menu.
