Everyone loves a laugh, and New York City is coming through with a heaping cartload of the fun and the funny! Started in 2004, the New York Comedy Festival takes place in over 20 different venues across all of New York City’s five boroughs, and features over 200 performers. With this much fun, there’s really no reason not to go! So let’s skip the preview and get right to the main act with some of this year’s performers.
At the Round Table
If you’re interested in more of a behind-the-scenes look at the art of comedy, then stop by Manhattan’s Triad Theater on Tuesday, November 10th at 7pm. You’ll get a real treat, as Alan Zweibel (one of the original writers for Saturday Night Live, along with plenty of accomplishments since) moderates a panel of a number of NYC’s most illustrious comedy writers, including Delia Ephron, Andy Breckman, and others. So head on over for one of the most entertaining panel discussions you’re likely to see. Who knows? You might even learn something!
Psychos Can be Funny!
But if you just want to get to the good stuff and see a performer work their magic live, check out Margaret Cho in her show “There’s No I in Team But There’s a Cho in Psycho.” Very observant, Ms. Cho. I’m not entirely sure I want to know the thought process that lead you to check for that, but I’m sure you’ll be hilarious. So stop by and see “The Queen of All Media” at Manhattan’s Town Hall Theater on Wednesday, November 11th, at 8pm.
Laugh, Laugh, Laugh
On Thursday, November 12th, at 8pm, you’ll have the opportunity to see some memorable comedy in a memorable venue — Carnegie Hall! You may remember Kathy Griffin from hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, but her talents are so much more! Did you know that she holds the world record for most televised stand-up comedy specials, boasting 20 of them? Or that she is one of only three women to ever win the Grammy award for Best Comedy Album? Her achievements go on and on, but all you really need to know is that she is really funny. Don’t believe me? Go see for yourself!
A comedy tonight. And tomorrow night. And the one after that…. you get the idea. NYC’s pulling out all the stops to make you laugh, and Seastreak is pulling out all the stops to get you there in style and comfort — just like we always do. So go on, check it out! Just remember to be really careful about your drink during the performances — you’re likely to spit it out at a funny line, and there’s only so much we can do to get you cleaned up.
Sea you Soon!
