It’s officially autumn everyone!  That means pumpkin everything, sweater season, and dressing up as your favorite ghoul!  Maybe this year you aren’t excited about ghosts and goblins, and want a little variety in your costume.  Whatever you want to be this Halloween, here are a few of our favorite costume shops to find this year’s getup.

Backward Glances

This Red Bank shop is usually stocked with vintage threads from decades passed, but when fall rolls in it becomes the place to go for unique costumes!  There are plenty of vintage costumes to choose from, from Alice in Wonderland to a 1920s flapper.

Abracadabra Superstore

This place is not messing around when it comes to Halloween.  Aside from hundreds of costumes, they also have professional costume makeup, and fun props like harmless smoke in a can and hyper-realistic foam animals.  The perfect place to go if you’re planning on going heavy with the makeup for Halloween because they have enough goodies here to make up the entire cast of Star Trek AND their guest stars.

Early Halloween

If you take Halloween really seriously, like seriously enough to know that a run-of-the-mill costume just won’t do, why not rent it? At Early Halloween the costumes are beautiful, vintage, and you don’t have to buy them!  That means you can be the belle of the ball (or the male equivalent) on a budget!  And afterwards your costume won’t sit in the back of your closet collecting dust.

Frankie Steinz

There are costumes, and then there are Frankie Steinz costumes.  These made-to-order pieces will definitely run you a pretty penny, but sometimes the perfect costume takes a professional. Frankie Steinz has worked with some of the top names in show business, and it’s no wonder why.  The design and craftsmanship is unrivaled.  Also the designer’s name is really Frankie Stein. This is obviously something she was born to do!
