Seastreak’s full of patriots, and we’re big believers in the red, white, and blue. (Though when you look at our ferries, you’ll notice we’re kind of fond of blue. What can we say? It’s nautical.) One of the coolest parts of America is how it’s full of influences from other countries brought together to give us the best of everything! You can support the USA while still enjoying the tastes of other cultures. Don’t believe us? Head for Les Halles Brasserie at 15 John Street!

All About That Beef

How, you may wonder, does eating at a French restaurant support the United States? Les Halles buys and serves prime American beef! Their in-house butcher cuts it in the French style, known for searching out the meat’s unique qualities so as to give each kind of steak its own texture and taste.

Since they’re open from 8 AM until midnight, you can drop in for breakfast foods worth waking up for, like chocolate croissants, delicious crepes, or a big plate of steak and eggs. (Saturdays and Sundays, you can get brunch, and mimosas, too.) Lunch and dinner are just as tempting. Pork tenderloin with garlic confit and mashed potatoes? Maine mussels with fries and a variety of delicious sauces? You might want to just camp out at a table, and ask them to bring food every few hours.

Show Your Mussels

This is even easier to do, if you catch the Lower Manhattan Tuesdays special. Until September 30, which is depressingly close, you can get bottomless Moules Mariniere for $19.95 when you take advantage of the special deal.
