Broadway, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, costume shops on every corner! If there was ever a city made for Halloween, it would be New York. There’s inspiration at every turn, and the denizens of this great city get together every year and put on one of the best Halloween parades in the country at the Village Halloween Parade!

NYC Village Halloween Parade

After last year’s parade cancellation due to Hurricane Sandy, New Yorkers were worried that their parade plans would not see the light of day. The cost of running the parade skyrocketed  due to lack of funding and insurance liability coverage. But we’ve never known New Yorkers to let obstacles get in their way! The Village Halloween Parade recently completed its funding goal of $50,000 by asking for help from the people. Using Kickstarter, the committee that plans and produces the parade every year reached out to fans and participants of the Village Halloween Parade for donations.

Now that the Parade planning is once again in progress, we have something to look forward to on Halloween besides the treats! The Village Halloween Parade is one of the most entertaining ways to spend this spooky holiday! You will see ghosts of years passed, pop stars of the present, and a horde of the undead. You’re also bound to see some of the most elaborate Halloween creations of the year because people really go all out for this annual parade.

This year’s parade is on Thursday, October 31 at 7:00 pm.  Line-up for ONLY those in costume is on 6th Avenue South of Spring Street and North of Canal between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

Interested in attending the parade? Just hop on a Seastreak ferry on Halloween! We have plenty of room on our spacious and accommodating ferries so that no matter what you’re being for Halloween this year, we promise your costume won’t get as wrinkled as it would on the train! Not only that, but we also have a great cash bar in case you get thirsty from being a parade participant!
