Get ready for a show that is part inspirational documentary, and part heart thumping concert. Broadway once again delivers through the Marquis Theater at 1535 Broadway (46th Street between Broadway & 8th Avenue) New York, a moving story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.
The Rhythm is Gonna Get You!
Gloria Estefan opened America’s eyes to the sounds and rhythms of the Latin beat. Emilio’s vision for their music and culture successfully launched Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine into the hearts and homes of millions worldwide. With 100 million records sold and 26 Grammy Awards between them, it’s obvious that it’s time to come out of the dark and Get On Your Feet! You may even find yourself coming alive with “Conga” or singing along to “1,2,3…” with youthful abandon.
Trials, Triumphs, & a Love Story
Their story is told from their perspective, and you can watch their lives unfold on stage and screen. From a simple plane ride with her mother and a round trip ticket, to finding out her home was now the United States, Gloria has welcomed change and embraced life. You will experience her growth in music and life as she meets the Miami Sound Machine and develops her sound. You will sigh — and your heart will flutter — as you watch her find true love. The roller-coaster ride continues, as you will hold your chest and pray for her to live through a horrific accident. All the while, her family survives, as does their music. Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine became the gateway for all the other Latin musicians that have now flooded the airwaves.
