It's the historical cruise you didn't know you needed!

Explore NYC’s southernmost borough by sea and learn about its incredibly rich maritime, industrial, cultural and environmental history. Depart from Belford, NJ and travel down Arthur Kill, and around Staten Island in its entirety. Along the way, you will pass a number of landmarks of unexpected significance.

  • Historic waters

Join us as we explore fascinating and mysterious sites unfamiliar to most New Yorkers on this exciting Seastreak circumnavigation of Staten Island.

Throughout our tour, we cruise past numerous and important points of maritime, commercial and historical interest located all along the Kill Van Kull, the Arthur Kill, Raritan Bay, Princes’ Bay, Staten Island’s southern shore and Lower New York Harbor.

Key sights include:  Sailor’s Snug Harbor, the Caddell’s Shipyard, Port Richmond, Mariners Harbor, Shooters Island, the approach to Newark Bay with its famed Container facilities at Port Elizabeth and Port Newark, Port Ivory, Prall’s Island, Fresh Kills State Park, the haunted Bermuda Inn of Rossville (also home to Staten Island’s historic African American Sandy Ground Community), the eerie site of the Ship’s Graveyard at Rossville, Tottenville’s historic Conference House, Prince’s Bay and Seguine’s Point.  Along this route, we further explore the history of the cities of Bayonne, Elizabeth, Linden, Carteret, Perth Amboy, and South Amboy.

Bridges under which our boat will pass include the recently renovated Bayonne Bridge, the Vertical Lift Railroad Bridge, the all-new Goethals Bridge, the Outerbridge Crossing and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge.

Lighthouses viewed along the route of our boat tour include: Robbin’s Reef, the location of the former Bergen Point Lighthouse, once situated at the entrance to Newark Bay, Great Beds, Prince’s Bay, the Staten Island Rear Range Light, site of the one-time Old Orchard Shoals Lighthouse (destroyed by Tropical Storm Sandy in 2012), New Dorp, Elm Tree, and the Battery Weed Light atop Fort Wadsworth.

  • Narration by an experienced local historian

Our tour will be narrated by Wade R. Goria, National Lighthouse Museum Historian, author, and former New York University professor.
